Lead and Opportunity Management

Leads

Leads can be considered as potential customers. They are created in the Sales section of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Any user with the proper permissions is able to create a lead.

Once a lead is created, it can then be assigned to a salesperson. From there, the salesperson creates activities for the lead, which include e-mailing, calling, or setting up an appointment. All leads must then go through a qualification process to become opportunities.

Opportunities

Opportunities are potential sales. Opportunities usually originate from a lead, but can also be created in the Sales section of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. An opportunity is used to show a customer more detail on the products and services being provided by the company. These are displayed to the customer in a quote.
