Look Up Relationship
Adding a LookUp field on your entity forms requires your entity to have a relationship established. There are three types of relationships:
- One to Many Relationship (1:N)
- Many to One Relationship (N:1)
- Many to Many Relationship (N:N)
To display a LookUp field, you are required to have a One to Many Relationship. As you can see on the picture below, there is a LookUp box for currency.
When you click on the LookUp button, the Look Up Records window opens up, allowing you to pick from a list of items.
The LookUp is possible because of the many to one relationship that was established.
The image below displays the relationship properties. Whenever a relationship is created, the Primary Entity(1) is the entity that will have many selections. The Related Entity(2) will always be, by default, the entity you are editing.
