Workflow

  • Clean Up Routing - Workflow tables should be checked periodically to make sure they match what appears in the workflow monitor. It may appear that only a few rules are running in the workflow monitor, but there could be a few thousand running in the database. It is good practice to purge the workflow on a recurring basis, which should be determined by the organizations use of the workflow engine. Important! This is an 'As-Is Without Warranty' article on removing inactive entries from your workflow instance process log on the database.
  • Create A Service Activity From A Case - This will require some reconfiguration but can be re-used to create your own assembly, callable from the workflow manager, to automatically create a new service activity. There is also a callout within the Plug-ins and Callouts section that keeps the service activity synchronized based on changes to the Case (Incident) and uses the post-update routine.
  • Simple Workflow Example - This is a good reference for creating cursors and also for grouping strings into a single field within a record, much like summing a number on a group by.
